FAQ

  • Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist. However, if you would like to use your Mental Health Care Plan from your GP you can access a medicare rebate.

  • Do you see NDIS clients?

Yes, a lot of our clients are NDIS clients. We can see self- or plan-managed clients.

  • Will you give me medication?

No. A psychologist does not prescribe medication. If you are after medication, we suggest you speak with your GP or Psychiatrist.

  • Do you see children or adolescents?

Yes, we love working with individuals from all over the lifespan. A lot of our clients are children, including young children. Please note that the younger the child, the more involvement is required from the parent.

  • What if my child does not connect with you?

Children are often careful of new people in their lives - and that is very healthy! We have a lot of experience in working with children and usually can build a connection with them. We will usually meet with the parents first to understand what is happening and tailor our intake to each child specifically.

  • I have previously tried therapy and it didn't work for me, will it be different this time?

We don’t know. If you are looking at this page, chances are that you are still looking for something though - and maybe this will be the time that things are different. Our sessions are built on honest feedback, so we are going to have an open conversation where we can discuss what has previously work and didn’t work from you - and go from there.

  • What are your fees?

Our standard rate is $223 per hour. If you are on a mental health care plan, you can get a rebate of $96.65 for up to 10 sessions per each calendar year. For those 10 sessions you will pay an out of pocket amount of $126.35. Some health insurance providers cover psychology if you have a referral - please check with your provider based on your cover.

  • What will our sessions look like?

We offer client-centred therapy which means that your session is designed to suit you and your needs specifically.

We will start with an intake session where we get to know each other and we will discuss what you are looking for or need help with. We will then design a therapy plan for you to help you meet your goals!

  • What is 'unconditional positive regard'?

We are here to support you and that starts with you feeling comfortable. We are going to be “on your team” and will support you in your journey. One important part of this is that you feel that you can trust us fully - all your parts are welcome here and you can be honest and open with us. This is “unconditional” as in there are no conditions for our support.
